2021-01-13 17:27:29 628-244-xxxx So Netflix announced all 70 original films being released in 2021. I'm probably the most excited about Lin-Manuel Miranda's adaptation of the musical Tick, Tick... Boom! And while Netflix doesn't always knock every single original film out of the park, they are pretty good at making a wide variety of films so that there's something for everyone. My favorite Netflix films from 2020 were A Secret Love, The Trial of the Chicago 7 and American Murder: The Family Next Door. What was your favorite? https://tinyurl.com/y2xq6nkn
2021-01-15 10:42:04 628-244-xxxx It's Friday and there are some great new releases to watch this weekend! The fourth season of Search Party is now out on HBO Max. If you're a fan of dark comedy, I highly recommend checking it out. I cannot wait to binge it! Also WandaVision, the first MCU series to air on Disney Plus, premiered two episodes today. The last MCU film came out 1.5 years ago, so hopefully WandaVision can fill the giant MCU void in my life. Now if only I could convince my boyfriend to watch it with me...Anyway, enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/y2l8j9y8
2021-01-21 15:15:06 628-244-xxxx CNET's Kent German wrote a great piece on why you should check out Netflix's hottest new true crime docuseries The Night Stalker: A Hunt for a Serial Killer. And as someone who loves true crime and watched half the series last night (before getting too freaked out and having to turn it off), I'm going to second that recommendation! Just maybe don't watch it at night... https://tinyurl.com/y23f9xjk
2021-01-27 14:29:06 628-244-xxxx This week I am finally watching The Flight Attendant (HBO Max) and it's gotten me on a mystery kick! Next up on my list is Lupin (Netflix). Lupin is a new French crime thriller that Netflix projected would reach 70 million households in its first 28 days! (For reference, The Witcher was watched by 76 million in 28 days.) Up until now Money Heist, a Spanish crime show, was Netflix's most popular non-English language series. Time to start binging! https://tinyurl.com/yygr6ya7
2021-01-29 12:44:16 628-244-xxxx Okay, so streaming has spoiled me. Waiting through Bob's Burgers (Fox/Hulu) two month winter hiatus is the absolute worst. Luckily Bob's Burgers creator Loren Bouchard also created the delightful musical animated series Central Park (Apple TV+), which you should check out. Plus the first two episodes of The Great North, produced by Bouchard, are now on Hulu. I watched both episodes last night and found it very charming (basically Bob's Burgers set in Alaska). And the voice cast (Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte) is phenomenal.
2021-02-03 15:33:13 628-244-xxxx Like many folks, I've been using my extra time at home to catch up on shows I'd never watched before (like all seven seasons of The West Wing.) So let's take a look at some cult classics on Netflix that you may have been putting off. On the comedy front I recommend the British sitcom The IT Crowd or the classic sketch series Monty Python's Flying Circus. Looking for something a little more unsettling? Netflix has four seasons of the original Twilight Zone, the first two seasons of Twin Peaks and all three seasons of the masterful horror series Hannibal. Let me know what cult classics you've been watching on Netflix!
2021-02-05 12:33:27 628-244-xxxx One of my all-time favorite actors Christopher Plummer has passed away. If you're looking to celebrate his career this weekend there are some fantastic films you can stream. I highly recommend checking out the 2019 mystery film Knives Out (Amazon Prime). You can also watch his Oscar winning performance in Beginners (HBO Max). Or you watch the iconic family film The Sound of Music (Disney+). https://tinyurl.com/yyacvp2j
2021-02-10 15:35:13 628-244-xxxx So you've probably started seeing #FreeBritney all across the internet. If you're out of the loop, last week Framing Britney Spears dropped on Hulu. It's the latest episode in the The New York Times Presents docuseries. Framing Britney is a quick watch (74 mins) and very eye opening. If you're a fan of investigative journalism, then I recommend also checking out the other five episodes of The New York Times Presents (available on Hulu). https://tinyurl.com/yxcfd9d6
2021-02-12 11:59:04 628-244-xxxx ️ Happy Valentine's Day weekend! If you're in the mood to watch something romantic, every streaming service has something to offer. I recommend checking out Palm Springs (Hulu), Always Be My Maybe (Netflix) and The Princess Bride (Disney+). But HBO Max is the clear winner for Valentine's Day! They have some all time classics like The Philadelphia Story, Casablanca, and Gone with the Wind; rhythmic romances like Singing in the Rain and Dirty Dancing; romantic dramas like The Notebook and Love & Basketball; and feel good rom-coms like You've Got Mail and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Enjoy! ️
2021-02-17 14:53:08 628-244-xxxx The CNET staff put together a fantastic roundup of uplifting shows and films to celebrate Black History Month! Whether you have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max or Disney+, there are great options for every streaming service. My recommendation off the roundup is Insecure (HBO Max), one of my favorite comedies on television. (I also highly recommend Issa Rae's hilarious memoir, in case any of you are looking for a good read.) https://tinyurl.com/y9egf4m4
2021-02-19 12:34:24 628-244-xxxx NASA's Perseverance landed on Mars yesterday and has made me misty-eyed about space exploration. And what better way to celebrate than to curl up and watch a movie or show about space! For fictional films a few of my favorites are Hidden Figures (Disney+), Apollo 13 (Peacock), The Martian (Hulu), Interstellar (Hulu) and the all time classic 2001: A Space Odyssey (HBO Max). For docuseries/documentaries you should check out Apollo 11 (Hulu), Challenger: The Final Flight (Netflix) and Mercury 13 (Netflix). I'm planning to start the sci-fi series The Expanse (Amazon Prime) tonight. What's your favorite movie or show about space?
2021-02-24 14:27:16 628-244-xxxx Welcome to Con Woman Wednesdays! Movies and shows about con women are very hot right now! On Friday the comedy thriller film I Care a Lot starring Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage hit Netflix; it's about a woman who acts as a legal guardian for elderly folks and steals from them. Today the new Netflix original series Ginny & Georgia dropped and it's about a young mother and her teenage daughter (and son) moving to a quirky New England town...except the mother has a shady grifting past. So it's like Gilmore Girls mashed up with a crime series. If you've seen either of these, reply and let me know what you think of them!
2021-02-26 13:13:23 628-244-xxxx Last week marks a year since I last went to a movie theatre; I used to go to the movies every week and I really miss it! While it's frustrating not getting to see new releases on a big screen, I do appreciate HBO Max making new films available for a whole month on their service. Today, HBO Max released the new Tom & Jerry movie! Plus you still have two more weeks to stream Judas and the Black Messiah. What upcoming movie releases on HBO Max are you most excited about? https://tinyurl.com/yapw58w4
2021-03-05 14:08:07 628-244-xxxx The series finale of WandaVision was released on Disney+ today and I am so excited to hear your thoughts! Luckily, we won't have to wait too long for the next Marvel show to hit Disney+. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres March 19 and Loki premieres June 11! Text me back with all of your WandaVision finale thoughts, questions and theories! https://tinyurl.com/y8vyvgxt
2021-03-10 14:57:39 628-244-xxxx I've been a bit underwhelmed with most new 2021 shows. So today let's look at some strange and amazing shows from the last few years. 1. Los Espookys (HBO Max) - a hysterical Spanish-language comedy about a group of friends who create a business around their love of horror. 2. Undone (Amazon Prime) - a rotoscoped animated show about a woman who can manipulate time after a near fatal car crash. 3. The End of the F***ing World (Netflix) - a dark comedy about a teen psychopath who runs away with a classmate. More strange show recommendations like these coming Friday!
2021-03-12 12:23:32 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! I'm back with more unusual and excellent shows from the past few years. 1. American Vandal (Netflix) - a mockumentary series set in a high school, satirizing true crime series like Making a Murderer. 2. Fortitude (Amazon Prime) - at least watch the first season about an unearthed plague that takes over an Arctic settlement (and features a fantastic Stanley Tucci performance). 3. Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist (Netflix) is a docuseries about the very strange "pizza bomber" bank robbery case. Also heads-up: this is the last weekend to watch Judas and the Black Messiah (HBO Max)!
2021-03-17 14:28:07 628-244-xxxx Usually I enjoy seeing the Oscar nominees for Best Picture in movie theaters, but this year it looks like I'm going to have to stream all of them instead. Also, the Oscars are just over a month away and I've only seen one nominated film so far. Luckily, I have a plan! And that plan is to become a couch potato. If you care to join me here's a helpful guide on where you can stream the nominated films. And if you've seen any, let me know which one is your favorite! https://tinyurl.com/yzyrdh62
2021-03-19 12:18:35 628-244-xxxx Happy Superhero Friday! First up, the latest Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres today on Disney+. Next up, the four hour Snyder cut of Justice League is now on HBO Max. (Spoiler: it's not better. It's just longer.) And lastly, if you're feeling fatigued by flashy big budget superhero films and shows, let me recommend Fast Color (Hulu), a beautiful low budget superhero/sci-fi film from a few years back. Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/yhtyans8
2021-03-24 14:13:47 628-244-xxxx Netflix just dropped their April list! I'm predicting that the upcoming series Shadow and Bone (April 23), based on the fantasy novels by Leigh Bardugo, will be one of the most watched and talked about shows this spring. So here's your heads up a month in advance in case you want to try and read the books first. Otherwise, I watched It's a Sin (HBO Max) this week and the heart-wrenching 5 episode drama series about the HIV/AIDS crisis in the UK is absolutely worth your time! What are you all watching this week? https://tinyurl.com/yjhxpdtd
2021-03-31 14:04:29 628-244-xxxx If you're a fan of monster movies, then get excited! Godzilla vs. Kong premieres today on HBO Max! Remember, Godzilla vs. Kong will only be available on HBO Max for 31 days. Also, if you enjoy watching Godzilla vs. Kong, and you also like horror films, I highly recommend checking out a few other movies by director Adam Wingard: You're Next (Hulu) and The Guest (Tubi). They are some of my favorite horror films from the last decade and definitely worth checking out! https://tinyurl.com/yk29efxo
2021-04-07 13:49:21 628-244-xxxx If you're a Dolly Parton fan (and frankly, who isn't?), you can now stream Dolly Parton: A MusiCares Tribute (Netflix). Stars like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Pink and Willie Nelson all pay tribute to the generous, hilarious and iconic country music legend. And speaking of music legends, the fantastic Tina Turner documentary Tina is also available on HBO Max! And on the extreme opposite end of the spectrum, I noticed the TV series adaptation of Stephen King's Creepshow is now finally available on Amazon Prime. I'm a huge horror fan and I've only seen a couple episodes, but I loved it and can't wait to finish the first season!
2021-04-09 12:55:45 628-244-xxxx Not a lot of notable releases this weekend, except for the new anthology horror series Them (Amazon Prime). Or, if you're super curious after years and years of delays and reshoots, The New Mutants lands on HBO Max tomorrow. (Spoiler: it's not good.) So instead let me recommend something excellent: check out the first two seasons of Pose on Netflix. The final season premieres May 2 on FX, so you have a little time to catch up. While occasionally heartbreaking to watch, Pose is an absolutely fantastic show about the drag ball culture scene in the late 80s/early 90s. One of the few shows to bring me to tears in 2020. Happy Friday!
2021-04-14 15:23:22 628-244-xxxx Last night I binged the Netflix docuseries This Is a Robbery: The World's Biggest Art Heist (Netflix), a four part series about the 1990 unsolved Gardner Museum theft in Boston. The thieves stole thirteen pieces, none of which have ever been recovered, and it's still considered the largest art theft of all time. And if you've already watched it and are looking for more fascinating tales from the art world, I recommend checking out the documentary film Art and Craft (Amazon Prime) about the legendary art forger Mark Landis.
2021-04-23 12:03:14 628-244-xxxx The fantasy series Shadow and Bone (Netflix) is out today! While it's no Game of Thrones, the show is quite enjoyable. And it will help tide us fantasy fans over until the second season of The Witcher drops near the end of the year. Also, the Oscars are this weekend so here's a reminder that you can watch these nominees for free with a streaming service: Nomadland (Hulu), Mank (Netflix), The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Netflix), and Sound of Metal (Amazon Prime). Enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/ygfwkvag
2021-04-28 14:57:55 628-244-xxxx The other day I was skimming the "hidden gems" film list on Netflix and realized most of them were actually popular movies. So here are some lesser known films on Netflix that I really enjoyed: if you want something funny and moving, Taika Waititi's Hunt for the Wilderpeople is an excellent watch. If you enjoy films based on true events, The Founder shows how McDonald's came to be an empire at the hands of Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), which I found truly fascinating. And if you liked Uncut Gems check out the Safdie brothers other chaotic thriller Good Time starring Robert Pattinson. What's your favorite lesser known film on Netflix?
2021-05-05 14:01:29 628-244-xxxx Hope you all had an excellent Star Wars Day yesterday! The first episode of The Bad Batch, the latest Star Wars series, dropped on Disney+. And there are still a ton of new Star Wars series in the works including a Boba Fett series and an Obi-Wan Kenobi series. I know it can be hard to keep track of all the Star Wars films and shows, but if you're looking to catch up we have a helpful guide of how to watch everything in order. Enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/ygy3ad7q
2021-05-07 12:06:15 628-244-xxxx The final third season of Hulu's comedy Shrill, starring Aidy Bryant, is out today! If you've been sleeping on Hulu's comedy shows, that's definitely a mistake. I've talked about my deep love for the middle school set series PEN15 before, but I also highly recommend you check out some past Hulu shows like Difficult People and Casual (both of which I adored). If you like historical comedies The Great is extremely entertaining. And in my opinion Ramy, about an American Muslim millennial, is one of the best written shows on any streaming platform. https://tinyurl.com/yeuahrxa
2021-05-12 14:06:34 628-244-xxxx Lots of great stuff heading your way this week! Tomorrow the fourth and final season of the animated series Castlevania drops on Netflix. The dark horror anime series, based on a Japanese video game, has featured many amazing guest stars including Bill Nighy, Jason Isaacs and Lance Reddick. Also, tomorrow is the premiere of Hacks (HBO Max), the comedy show I'm probably most excited for in 2021. It stars the brilliant Jean Smart as an iconic Vegas comedian and it was created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky, best known for their work on the series Broad City (Hulu).
2021-05-16 00:20:09 628-244-xxxx Like I mentioned on Wednesday, there are lots of terrific shows/movies dropping this week! Barry Jenkins' The Underground Railroad series (Amazon Prime) comes out today and it's supposed to be excellent; it's moved to the top of my watch list! Also the documentary MLK/FBI, which dives into the FBI's investigation and harassment of Martin Luther King Jr., is now available to stream on Hulu. And the latest new Warner Bros. film to drop on HBO Max, Those Who Wish Me Dead starring Angelina Jolie, is also out today. Remember you only have a month to watch it on HBO Max! What are you all watching this weekend?
2021-05-19 15:09:47 628-244-xxxx Loki is coming soon and unlike other Disney+ shows it'll drop new episodes on *Wednesdays* starting June 9. If you want to text with our Marvel fans about the show, text back LOKI and we'll add you to our Marvel group! Anyone who opts in will receive news ahead of the premiere, easter eggs, fun polls, plus you can send in any questions about the show you may have. 2021-05-21 12:03:20 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! A quick reminder that this is your last weekend to watch Mortal Kombat on HBO Max. And speaking of fun campy things to watch, the series Lucifer is coming back to Netflix in one week. If you haven't seen the "fantasy-meets-CSI'' series (which is about Lucifer, the Devil himself, helping a Los Angeles detective solve crimes), then I highly recommend checking it out on Netflix! Lucifer is wildly absurd and one of my favorite 2020 binge watches. https://tinyurl.com/yzvpxtne
2021-05-26 12:08:29 628-244-xxxx Disney's new live action villain film Cruella, starring Emma Stone, hits movie theaters and Disney+ this Friday. Just like with Mulan and Raya and the Last Dragon, if you want to watch Cruella on Disney+ this weekend you'll have to cough up $30. If you don't want to pay the $30 fee, Cruella will be available to all Disney+ subscribers on Aug. 27. Since my local movie theaters have reopened, I might go see Cruella on the big screen. Has anyone returned to their local movie theaters yet? How was it? https://tinyurl.com/ydtjo83s
2021-05-28 12:04:51 628-244-xxxx This holiday weekend has a variety of premieres and finales across every genre. The crime drama Mare of Eastwood (HBO Max) and the family series The Mighty Ducks: Games Changers (Disney+) both have finales this weekend. Lucifer (Netflix) is back along with the third season of The Kominsky Method (Netflix). And the teen drama series Panic debuts on Amazon Prime. But I'm probably most excited to watch the Hulu original comedy film Plan B, directed by actress Natalie Morales. What are you watching during the long weekend?
2021-06-02 13:59:35 628-244-xxxx Hey, we made it to June! One of our subscribers recently asked me for something hilarious to watch on Netflix. And you're in luck, because a new month means new fun stuff to watch and Netflix just picked up all three seasons of Happy Endings, one of the most underrated comedy sitcoms of the last decade! So if you've never seen it, I highly recommend checking it out. Also Loki, the new Marvel series on Disney+, premieres in just one week. You can still text back LOKI if you want to opt-in to texts specifically on the series! https://tinyurl.com/y65exdd9
2021-06-04 12:11:04 628-244-xxxx Great news for the weekend: Raya and the Last Dragon is now free on Disney+. Also the second season of Feel Good, a truly delightful show from Mae Martin, is now on Netflix! If you enjoyed Feel Good and are looking for other shows/films to celebrate Pride month, CNET has a helpful roundup of things to watch! My favorites are Schitt's Creek and Pose. Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/y6jbzz2z
2021-06-11 12:00:45 628-244-xxxx There are lots of great movies and shows to check out this weekend! The French mystery series Lupin returns to Netflix with another 5 episodes. Also the second season of Love, Victor is now on Hulu and the second season of Flack is on Amazon Prime. If you're looking for something family friendly, the animated film Wish Dragon hits Netflix today. And of course my top pick for the weekend is In the Heights (HBO Max). Enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/yeoyzu6v
2021-06-16 13:43:37 628-244-xxxx Great news! Pixar's latest film Luca comes out this Friday to Disney+. And just like last year with Pixar's Soul, this one comes at no extra charge for Disney+ subscribers. The family friendly film is set in the Italian Riviera and it's a perfect film to kick off this summer. What's your favorite summer flick? My favorite summer movies are Jaws and The Sandlot. Text me back and let me know yours! https://tinyurl.com/ygtxdqgo
2021-06-25 12:02:37 628-244-xxxx It's Friday and there’s plenty to watch this weekend! First up, the second season of Central Park, the animated musical series, returns to Apple+, along with the season finale of Mythic Quest. If you’re still sleeping on Apple+, I don’t blame you. But it might be worth trying out come the end of July when the comedy series Ted Lasso returns. For any Bosch fans (Amazon Prime) the seventh and finale season drops today. You can also check out the new horror film False Positive (Hulu), starring Broad City’s Ilana Glazer. And a reminder that the clock is ticking to watch In the Heights on HBO Max; I saw it in theaters and LOVED it! ☀️
2021-06-30 14:07:51 628-244-xxxx Starting off strong, Steven Soderbergh's new noir film No Sudden Move hits HBO Max tomorrow. The movie has an amazing cast including Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm and Brendan Fraser, plus promising reviews. Also July 1 means fresh films on every service. Amazon Prime has some classics coming like Alien, Vertigo, Rear Window and On The Waterfront. But Hulu has more range including cult classics like Galaxy Quest and Beetlejuice and other favorites like Caddyshack, The Terminator, the Underworld series and more. https://tinyurl.com/yjb2ydug
2021-07-02 12:05:49 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! If you're looking for a good laugh this weekend Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third film in the Bill & Ted series, hits Hulu today. Frankly, I'll watch anything starring Keanu Reeves. (Sadly John Wick 4 isn't coming out until May 2022.) Speaking of action films, The Tomorrow War comes out today. The Amazon Prime film stars Chris Pratt and follows a group of soldiers sent to the future to fight aliens. Check out CNET's review below. Have a great holiday weekend! https://tinyurl.com/ye2llm75
2021-07-07 13:42:24 628-244-xxxx Hello friends! Lots of new TV shows this week! The Gossip Girl (HBO Max) reboot premieres tomorrow, though I'd probably skip it and watch the premiere of the new comedy series The White Lotus (HBO Max) on Sunday instead. I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson (Netflix) is already back with more ridiculous sketch comedy skits and Atypical (Netflix) returns Friday. The best TV this week is coming from overseas: the second season of the British series This Way Up hits Hulu on Friday. And from New Zealand, the first season of Wellington Paranormal (a spinoff from What We Do in the Shadows) is finally on HBO Max on Monday!
2021-07-09 12:08:40 628-244-xxxx Who's excited for Black Widow?? It's been two very long years since the last Marvel movie came out and I could not be more thrilled to see Black Widow in theaters tomorrow. If you're not quite ready to return to theaters, you can watch the film at home on Disney+ for $30. If you're looking for something free to watch, the second part of the Fear Street trilogy is out on Netflix today. But if horror isn't your thing, I recommend checking out In a World..., a charming comedy film from 2013 now on Hulu. https://tinyurl.com/yebrne9q
2021-07-14 13:50:18 628-244-xxxx Yesterday the Emmy nominations for 2021 dropped and I'll admit that I have mixed feelings about awards shows in recent years. The Handmaid's Tale nabbed 10 noms for acting alone and The Crown landed 9 acting noms. You can't deny the performances on both shows are excellent. But frankly neither show even cracks my Top 20 list. At the end of the day, always remember to watch what makes you happy! Speaking of shows that make me happy, Never Have I Ever (Netflix) returns tomorrow and I can't wait to binge the second season! https://tinyurl.com/yjpyrbjm
2021-07-16 12:01:12 628-244-xxxx Get ready to jam! The Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James hits theaters and HBO Max today. (Remember, you only have one month to watch it on HBO Max.) And if you're feeling extra nostalgic you can stream the original Space Jam with Michael Jordan on HBO Max or Hulu. If basketball isn't your jam, you should check out the premiere of the new Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! starring Keegan-Michael Key, Cecily Strong and a fantastic supporting cast. Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/ygurgpwa
2021-07-21 14:45:57 628-244-xxxx Today is certainly a wild day for new TV series. The Turner & Hooch series premieres on Disney+ and yes, it is a continuation of the Tom Hanks buddy cop film from 1989 following Hanks’ children present day after his death. But oddly enough a French Mastiff solving crimes is even less strange than the new dating series to hit Netflix called Sexy Beasts, where people go on blind dates dressed in elaborate animal prosthetics. The reality show looks utterly ridiculous, so it's basically a guarantee that I’ll be watching it. Enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/yzem82w2 https://m.twil.io/ON5Skrcjir
2021-07-23 12:02:25 628-244-xxxx It's Feel Good Friday and there are two new releases that should bring you a little joy this evening! First off, the second season of Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) premieres today. The heartwarming comedy starring Jason Sudeikis is one of the only reasons I'd recommend checking out Apple TV+. Secondly, one of my favorite series The Movies That Made Us (Netflix) is back. This season you can dive into the history behind Pretty Woman, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park and Back to the Future. Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/ygnz6yv3
2021-07-28 14:49:32 628-244-xxxx What has everyone been watching lately? I’ve been rewatching all the Marvel films before Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings comes out in September. And next on my list is Heist (Netflix) a true crime docuseries about famous heists; Netflix does a great job with their docuseries, so I'm definitely excited to check it out. If you’re looking for something brand new, The Pursuit of Love (Amazon Prime) is a romantic miniseries written and directed by actress Emily Mortimer. The cast includes Lily James, Andrew Scott and Dominic West and it’s out on Friday. https://m.twil.io/Qigy6Zx03F
2021-07-30 12:09:06 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! August starts this Sunday which means lots of new shows/movies on every platform. The hottest Netflix arrival is all seven seasons of 30 Rock, along with high school hits like The Edge of Seventeen and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Amazon Prime will have horror hits like Aliens, Predator and Jaws. HBO Max is getting some fantastic Christopher Guest films like Best in Show, A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration. Want something for tonight? If you're in the mood for a little Disney magic and you're a Disney+ subscriber, you can pay an extra $30 to watch The Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
2021-08-04 15:24:48 628-244-xxxx The Suicide Squad hits HBO Max and theaters tomorrow! Remember, you only have one month to watch it at home. (Also a reminder that you have until Aug. 15 to watch the new Space Jam!) The Suicide Squad is technically a sequel to the painfully awful Suicide Squad (2016), but this standalone film directed by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is wildly entertaining. And if gory superhero films aren't your thing, let me recommend a very charming indie film called Princess Cyd that will be on Hulu tomorrow. https://tinyurl.com/yedqce3g
2021-08-06 12:08:09 628-244-xxxx This weekend is a bit of a slow one. If you have Apple TV+ you can check out the premiere of the new dramedy Mr. Corman, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And there's a new comedy series co-created by Taika Waititi premiering Monday called Reservation Dogs (Hulu/FX) that looks really promising! Taika's other FX series What We Do in the Shadows, one of the funniest shows on TV, returns Sept 2! And be sure to check out CNET's roundup of the best shows on Netflix if you need a little extra streaming inspiration! Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/yeohjjy4

(Though if you want to watch actress Joey King in something really good, I highly recommend watching the show The Act on Hulu instead.) If you like sci-fi noir films you can check out the new Hugh Jackman movie Reminiscence (HBO Max), which will also be in movie theaters. And as always, you'll have about 30 days to watch the film on HBO Max before it's gone. 2021-08-25 13:29:00 628-244-xxxx Looking for something wholesome to watch tonight? The entire first season of the travel and food series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy is now available on HBO Max. Or, if you want to pull back the curtain on a different wholesome figure, there’s a new documentary out on Netflix today called Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed. (Though I’d rather watch some old episodes of The Joy of Painting instead.) And if you’re looking for a movie with some charm, check out Love and Monsters, available on Hulu tomorrow. It’s a fun, post-apocalyptic adventure film...with monsters! https://m.twil.io/xe1UjG0kle
2021-08-27 12:01:20 628-244-xxxx Great news! You can finally watch Cruella on Disney+ without the $30 fee. I'm not the biggest fan of Disney's live-action adaptations, but I caught Cruella in theaters and found it quite enjoyable. The premiere of the second season of See is out today on Apple TV+. Dave Bautista joins this season, which has me really intrigued. Also He's All That, the completely unnecessary gender-swapped remake of the teen classic She's All That, is out on Netflix today. Or you could check out some better movie options on Amazon Prime below. https://tinyurl.com/yeyhpmd6
2021-09-01 13:34:52 628-244-xxxx Today, I'm giving Hulu some much deserved praise! Yesterday was the premiere of the new comedy series Only Murders in the Building starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. Any fans of true crime and comedy must check it out! A new month also means new movies and Hulu is the clear winner for Sept! Get in the mood for Halloween season with some classic spooky films like The Omen, Fright Night, The Ring and Edward Scissorhands. Or check out comedy classics like A Fish Called Wanda, Office Space and Raising Arizona. Or just watch some great movies like Election, Gattaca, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Hoosiers.

The Camila Cabello and Idina Menzel led Cinderella film is on Amazon Prime today. This version is a jukebox musical, so if you have any interest in hearing Menzel belt out Material Girl check it out. And just a heads up that Shang-Chi, the newest Marvel film, is only available in theaters right now. Happy Labor Day everyone!
2021-09-08 14:08:19 628-244-xxxx Fall is nearly here, which means tons of shows are returning soon! (I'm most excited about the return of Insecure, Succession and The Great.) Right now is a good time to spend a few weeks getting caught up on your favorites. But if you want something fresh, the first three episodes of Wu-Tang: An American Saga's second season drop today (Hulu). You can check out the first episode of Impeachment: American Crime Story (Hulu). Also the third season of the reality competition The Circle has started to air on Netflix. And if you missed the movie Mortal Kombat and still want to see it, it's back on HBO Max tomorrow.
2021-09-10 12:01:19 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! So I've sadly discovered Impeachment: American Crime Story won't be on Hulu, only FX for now. But there are a ton of other great things to stream! The finale season of my favorite campy detective show Lucifer is out today (Netflix). LuLaRich, a docuseries about the multi-level marketing company LuLaRoe, also drops today (Amazon Prime). I will be binge watching both this weekend! The new miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (a remake of the 1973 Ingmar Bergman series) will premiere Sunday night on HBO Max. The show stars Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac and is getting lots of buzz! Have a great weekend everyone!
2021-09-15 13:24:32 628-244-xxxx What has everyone been watching lately? If you've found yourself watching reruns, you might be pleased to hear that all of the original Saved by the Bell series, plus the College Years and both TV movies are now on Netflix. Talk about nostalgia! Plus the sixth season of the hilarious baking competition show Nailed It! also drops today on Netflix. And the new post-apocalyptic series Y: The Last Man, based on the hit comic book series, is available on Hulu. The trailer looks pretty intriguing! https://tinyurl.com/yg5cm8tm

Also the third season of Sex Education (Netflix) is finally here! This British comedy is one of my absolute favorite shows. I highly recommend checking it out. And the second season premiere of The Morning Show (Apple TV+) is out. Well tomorrow you can watch the premiere of his new series The Problem with Jon Stewart (Apple TV+), with new episodes set to air every other Thursday. Speaking of television nostalgia, all nine seasons of Seinfeld will be available on Netflix starting Friday! Two more (The Manor and Madres) will drop next Friday. Maid, a new series on Netflix starring mother and daughter combo Margaret Qualley and Andie MacDowell, also hits Netflix today. And I'll be celebrating my birthday today by rewatching Black Widow, which is finally on Disney+! And lastly, for anyone out of the loop, the hottest TV show right now is Squid Game, a Korean series streaming on Netflix. Not only is it sure to be full of classic Muppets charm, but it’s one of the last performances from the late Ed Asner. If you’re looking for something a little bit scarier this month, there are lots of options across the board. HBO Max has hits like It, The Shining and The Evil Dead. Netflix has The Conjuring, Raw and The Guest. Hulu has Child’s Play, You’re Next and Underworld. And Amazon Prime has Midsommar, The Descent and The Thing. What are your horror favorites? https://m.twil.io/wZcZjmI3rW
2021-10-13 14:02:18 628-244-xxxx Hello all! The new season of The Movies That Made Us (Netflix) dropped yesterday and I already started binging it. This season looks at how some horror classics like Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street got made, along with some lighter films like Coming to America. The first three episodes of the miniseries Dopesick (Hulu) dropped today. While the subject matter is very heavy (the opioid crisis), it's led by a fantastic cast including Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Kaitlyn Dever. (Once again I must plug Kaitlyn Dever's amazing performance in the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable; also a heavy, but brilliant, show.)
2021-10-15 12:03:17 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! Hopefully you aren't too burned out by spooky season - because there are more thrilling horrors headed your way. The third season of You (Netflix) drops today. Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg has become one of my favorite villains to watch and luckily Netflix has already renewed You for a fourth season. Also on the horror series front is I Know What You Did Last Summer (Amazon Prime), which reboots the teen slasher story. And after a two year wait, Succession is finally back for a third season! The first episode premieres on HBO this Sunday; I can't wait to see the drama this season brings to the Roy family!
2021-10-20 14:02:59 628-244-xxxx Dune is finally here! The sci-fi epic, directed by Denis Villeneuve, has a star-studded cast including: Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson...and I could keep going. The film will be available in theaters and on HBO Max at 6p ET tomorrow. Keep in mind that this film is technically Dune: Part One. So if a sequel isn't ordered, the story won't exactly have a satisfying ending. Still CNET's review found the film to be a deeply weird, yet thrilling movie experience. Count me in! https://tinyurl.com/yk65sltt
2021-10-22 12:03:00 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! First up, Apple TV+ has a new sci-fi series out today, Invasion, starring Sam Neill. (And yes, it is about an alien invasion; great guess!) You can watch the first three episodes tonight and new episodes every Friday. The second season of Locke & Key (Netflix) drops today, in case you were worried that October would run out of spooky shows! And the final season of Insecure (HBO Max) starts premiering on Sunday. Insecure is one of my favorite shows on television and while I'll be sad to see it end, I'm excited to see whatever projects Issa Rae works on next. Have a great weekend!
2021-11-03 15:56:45 628-244-xxxx Looks like we made it to November! Starting off strong, today you can check out the Western film The Harder They Fall (Netflix) starring an amazing cast including: Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Regina King and Zazie Beetz. And Dr. Brain, a Korean sci-fi thriller series, premieres on Apple TV+ tomorrow. Also a new month means fresh films on every service. Lots of great options across the board, especially for a binge watch! HBO Max is picking up a bunch of Bourne films; Amazon Prime is picking up a bunch of Alien films. But I'd recommend rewatching all three Matrix movies on Hulu before the fourth film hits theaters next month!

And Netflix has the film adaptation of the musical Tick, Tick...Boom! (one of my favorite musicals), with Andrew Garfield as the lead. Both are getting great reviews and you can’t go wrong with either. On the TV front, the shows are a bit lackluster. 2022-01-05 13:55:09 628-244-xxxx Hope everyone's 2022 is off to a great start! There are new movie titles on every streaming service: Hulu picked up a bunch of the original Star Trek films, Netflix picked up some nostalgic classics like Gremlins and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies and Amazon Prime picked up the first four Mission Impossibles. The fifth and final season premiere of Search Party hits HBO Max on Friday. Search Party is a fantastically fun dark comedy and I'm really sad it's ending! I'm also very curious to check out Yellowjackets (Showtime); I've heard great things about this psychological horror series. Let me know if you've watched it!

Pamela Adlon's Better Things is absolutely, utterly brilliant; I adore this show. It is so well written and thoughtful; I am rarely overwhelmed with emotion but this show really gets to me. The fifth and final season premiered on FX this week; new episodes air on Mondays and are available on Hulu the next day. Seasons 1-4 are also on Hulu! Highly recommended! Also a heads up that the Best Picture Oscar nominees Drive My Car and West Side Story are now on HBO Max! Just in case you were trying to watch them all before March 27!

On the film front Blade Runner 2049 is coming to Netflix tomorrow. And Hulu is getting the drama film Mass. While it's not an easy watch, Mass was probably the most powerful film I watched in 2021 and one of the rare times I sobbed throughout an entire film. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

2022-04-06 14:03:56 628-244-xxxx Better Call Saul’s sixth season premieres April 18 on AMC. But some good news if you’re looking to catch up on the show before then - the fifth season is now on Netflix! April’s off to a slower start for streaming so let me recommend a recent show that may have flown under the radar: Somebody Somewhere (HBO Max). This charming show set in a small Kansas city is funny and truly heartwarming. Bridget Everett carries the show with her humor and likability, though her co-star Jeff Hiller deserves a big bright spotlight too. I watched the whole show in one sitting and I suspect you all will adore it as well! https://m.twil.io/aiJXasndrP

2022-06-10 12:00:56 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! It's a slow weekend for streaming (and a great time to catch up on Obi-Wan Kenobi or Stranger Things). As for new things to watch, Netflix now has the final sixth season of Peaky Blinders. And the third season of the sci-fi drama For All Mankind premieres on Apple TV+ today. If you need some ideas for shows to watch, check out our roundup below. Have a great weekend! https://tinyurl.com/2dxc9zes

2022-06-15 14:01:07 628-244-xxxx Hello all! Out today on Hulu is the third and final season of the teen rom-com Love, Victor (the spinoff series to the film Love, Simon). Netflix has a new apocalyptic comedy series, God's Favorite Idiot, starring Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone and Leslie Bibb. Also, if you didn't know, Netflix had an in-person comedy festival a few months back called Netflix is a Joke. Many of those events were taped and have been popping up on Netflix. This week you can check out Pete Davidson Presents: The Best Friends and Jane & Lily: Ladies Night Live.

2022-06-17 12:01:37 628-244-xxxx Happy Friday! Big weekend for movies. Hulu has Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, a British dramedy starring Emma Thompson as a widow who hires some "company." (Ahem.) Apple TV+ has Cha Cha Real Smooth, a dramedy that was produced, written, directed and co-edited by Cooper Raiff. Oh, and he stars in it (alongside Dakota Johnson). Lastly, HBO Max has another remake of Father of the Bride, starring Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan. I'm a bit skeptical (given how much I adore the Steve Martin version), but it's also been 30 years since the last remake so I guess I'll give it a shot.
